Buddies in the Caribbean

The “Buddies in the Caribbean” DXpedition (Team #1) which specializes in 100 watt or less low power radios and the Buddipole portable antenna systems are going to Barbados(8P6)  on January 29 - February 6, 2013.

We plan to stay at the Villa Wind Song on the south west side of Barbados.  After two very successful mini-DXpeditions to St Lucia in 2010, we look forward to demonstrating our capabilities for “ultralite” DXpeditioning into magnificent  locations, operating a field portable, battery-only radio with backpackable, lightweight antennas and most of all having fun on the island of Barbados.  The entire mini-DXpedition is limited to equipment that can fit in our airline suitcase.

8P6 license applications are currently being processed. 

There will be 2 maybe 3 Villa stations in operation at various times on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB, and PSK, RTTY/Digital. 

During the day, up to (4) several teams will be battery-only, field portable from Barbados beaches, or mountains.

           80m CW operations might happen, conditions permitting.
